A challenging and sometimes unsettling conversation, but one I think is deeply worth engaging with. I don’t agree with everything Professor Jiang says, yet I find tremendous truth in his perspectives and a rare sincerity in the way he approaches his work. To me, he demonstrates intellectual yoga at its best: facing difficult realities, questioning freely, thinking critically, and allowing that inquiry to deepen into something spiritual and life-affirming. The ending, in particular, is beautiful.

Though this film is fairly dismissive of inner transformations, it dives deeply into understanding the complexity of social problems and solutions. Nonetheless, I can see how simply understanding these nuances can, in itself, bring about an inner transformation.

I think this talk can be easily dismissed because some of the things she recommended became outdated quite quickly, but she is shedding light on an essential point about where our species is heading.

An early investor in Amazon who can see that our society is heading in an inherently unsustainable, dysfunctional, and undesirable direction.

I include this music video because it captures the desire to escape the confines of the psychological self, highlighting all the suffering that cage can cause.

Psychedelics can be an efficient tools for reconnecting with our true nature. Because they are so powerful, it is best they be handled with great care and intention.
